[Thinkpad] Using a Tmobile sim in X250?

I have one of the T-mobile sims in my iPad from the old deal that gives 100
free mb/month.

I have a WWAN card in my laptop which currently has an AT&T sim and I'm
paying an extra $10/month to have that WWAN device added to my AT&T shared
family data plan.

I almost never use the Tmobile wifi sim in my iPad, and only occasionally
(and only for checking pop3 email) to I use the WWAN in my laptop.

Can I simply a) move the Tmobile sim to the Thinkpad, and b) then cancel
the Thinkpad WWAN from my shared family data plan?

What software would I need? (I presume the AT&T connection manager software
isn't going to recognize a Tmobile sim)

I use TMobile data sim in my T60 with USB stick. You can use two kinds:

1 - Locked Tmobile "Rocket" stick which you can buy on ebay for about $15.
This installs Tmobile connection manager

2 - Unlocked Sierra aircard (ebay). I use Compass 885 which is very good. This
installs Sierra Watcher which works with any brand of sim. You have to
get config values. I have if you need.

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, it DOES work, but the odd thing is that it will only connect at
EDGE speeds.
One of the small details buried somewhere in the T&C of that 100MB "free
for life" data plan from T-Mobile is that it is good for use only on the
IMEI of the device originally activated. There's no way to get T-Mobile to
activate it on any other IMEI. I tried multiple times this summer. It never
connected, and they referred back to that part of the plan T&C as the
reason why.
